I designed the exhibition identity and interpretive materials for Surviving the Railway: Far East Prisoners of War at Stories of Lynn museum (March - September 2025) exploring the experiences of Royal Norfolk Regiment soldiers who were prisoners of war during the Second World War and forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway.
The exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of VJ Day and features archive photographs, personal belongings of POWs and rarely seen documentary footage by former prisoner John Coast. A new Roll of Honour, listing those who served in the 4th, 5th, and 6th battalions of the Royal Norfolk Regiment in the Far East is also on display, accompanied by an interactive collection of short biographies that can be added to as the exhibition progresses.
The exhibition was developed using material from the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum. It was curated and produced by Norfolk Museum Curatorial Trainee Sam Wiggin under the direction of Curator Kate Thaxton.
My role included the creation of the visual identity, exhibition graphics and interpretive design used throughout the exhibition space. The design references midcentury midcentury book cover design, based on the biographies found in the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum library, which were used for research by the curator, Sam. We worked closely together to develop a design that was contemporary but referential of the era in which  John Coast's biographies were produced. The colours are developed from the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum's pallette.
