Apple Day is Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse’s annual harvest festival, with farming and craft demonstrations, live music, dancing and food, all built around British apples. For its 35th year, on Sunday 4 October 2026, I was commissioned to design the event’s identity, including a suite of logos and promotional material.
The festival has a loyal following, but the brief was to bring in a younger audience without losing what people already love about it.  The identity draws on vintage fruit label graphics, paired with typography that feels timeless rather than nostalgic. The palette comes straight from the orchard. Red, green and russet are taken from heritage apple varieties, then softened with muted yellow, blue and brown. The result is familiar and a little playful, in keeping with the festival itself.
